After the Nikki Haley Endorsement, the Conservative Media has become Nasty

The conservative media's current behavior in response to Nikki Haley's endorsement is not too shocking, since many had revealed their self-serving nature at prior occasions, such as during the 2010 elections.

Sarah Palin endorsed John McCain in 2010 for the Arizona senatorial seat, and understandably so, since she was his former running mate. In addition, McCain is the individual who launched Palin onto the national stage. Her endorsement of McCain was seen by many as an act of gratitude and doing that which had always been considered basic human decency. Despite the debt of gratitude she owed McCain, there were quite a number of conservatives who criticized her endorsement and even questioned her conservatism because of it.

Nikki Haley's endorsement of Romney for 2012 can be seen and understood in a similar light. Tea Party candidate Nikki Haley was one of many candidates seeking the governorship of South Carolina in 2010. During her campaign, she came under a considerable number of false attacks. Nevertheless, she bravely fought the attacks and forged forward, and with the support and endorsement of Palin and Romney ultimately won the nomination.

I've written two articles against David Frum and rarely agree with him, though I'm beginning to think he might be right for once. Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity may be creating a negative image of and causing considerable damage to the conservative movement. Just to make it absolutely clear, Levin is my favorite talk-show hosts and I listen to him and Limbaugh daily. However, their behavior of the last several weeks has taken a negative turn.

Haley's endorsement of Romney for the 2012 presidential campaign is an obvious act of gratitude and thankfulness for his support in 2010, and conservatives shouldn't blast Haley for attempting to pay back Romney for his support during her difficult campaign. Why do some conservatives find it so difficult to comprehend that she owes him a tremendous debt of gratitude and that basic human decency demands one to remember one's benefactors?

When Haley fought to win the governorship in South Carolina in 2010 despite false and harmful allegations, Romney stood by her side and expressed her support while Newt endorsed one of the others. I no longer remember whether the individual Newt had endorsed was a RINO or not, although Newt's endorsements in 2010 consisted primarily of moderates. Either way, it doesn't make much of a difference. What does matter, is that he didn't stand with Nikki.

Why has my favorite talk-show host Levin bitingly bid her goodbye? Why doesn't he remember that not a single one of the other current presidential candidates have felt it necessary to defend her, the conservative, in 2010? Why was that not enough to say bye to Newt and the others forever? Why are conservatives so eager to throw their fellow conservatives under the bus because they disagree with one single act they've done?

Besides, it just so happens to be that Romney's flip flops are pretty much equal to Newt's “change of hearts” regarding each and every single issue. Their records on most major issues are strikingly similar, and both of their records are sprinkled with conservative acts. Romney actually carries less baggage than Newt, and I say this not as a Romney supporter for I've criticized his flip-flops on many occasions. My original choice for the presidency was Sarah Palin, and since she isn't running I am currently considering supporting Santorum with Perry coming in not too far behind.

What irks me more than anything else, is how countless conservatives bash Romney and in the same breath bash those who unfairly attack Newt. Since when is criticizing Romney's record part of the vetting process, yet doing the same to Newt unfair attacks? The disingenuous two-faced acts of these conservatives does not go unnoticed by many of their listeners and readers, and I'm afraid their hypocrisy will lead to the weakening of the conservative message and movement.

Not only does the truth no longer matter for them, but with the free pass they provide for Newt, conservatives will no longer be able to blast a politician for adultery, serial or single. Nor will conservatives be capable of lambasting a president for his big-government solutions if conservatives continue to promote Newt for the presidency. Unless we wish to appear as hypocritical and character-less as the left.

Now, with the waves of criticism directed towards Haley, one can no longer even expect from conservatives to act with basic decency such as returning a favor to a fellow human being.

Video: Newt Rips Conservative who Support Conservatives

Newt Gingrich is currently playing the role of the Tea Party candidate, and quite convincingly so.

So successful is he in adapting new roles, that many actual conservatives have become so strongly convinced by his current talk, that it seems that nothing about Newt's opposing history is enough to convince them otherwise. And when I talk about his history that includes items from several decades ago, several years ago, and even barely several months ago.

This video is of Newt at the end of 2009 on Fox News, where he not only defends his decision to support liberal Dede Scozzafava over Tea Party candidate Doug Hoffman in a Republican district, but criticize those who support Hoffman.

Newt's smooth talk at the debates may convince some that he's turned over to a new leaf overnight, however this very morning on CBS's Face The Nation, Newt announced he would subpoena Supreme Court Judges who rule contrary to his liking. He explained that he understood that such action would create history, nevertheless he stood strongly at his opinion.

Thus, this very morning he's convinced me once again that the old Newt who loves historic moments such as sitting on one love-seat with Nancy Pelosi and partnering Al Sharpton is ready to do anything and everything, including items contrary to conservatism and the constitution, all to receive some limelight, attention, and the creation of historic moments.

From the Tucson Blood Libel to the Operation Fast and Furious Massacre

It is currently close to a year after a large chunk of the media has falsely and shamelessly accused Rush Limbaugh, Tea Partiers, talk-radio, and Sarah Palin specifically, citing a map upon which she had placed cross-hairs at districts she felt were worthwhile investing energy during elections and which included Giffords’ district.

It mattered not that the blame for the horrific act rested solely on the shoulders of a deranged non-political lunatic whose obsession with his Democratic Congresswoman dated back to at least 2007, a time when Sarah Palin served as the Governor of remote Alaska. Once the fog had lifted and it became clear without the shadow of a doubt that the anti-Giffords Jared Loughner who committed the crime was as disconnected from the right and Sarah Palin as could possibly be, many thought the left would apologize or at least ensure to stick to the facts. However, the left has never tired of their obsession against Palin and continue to blame her for a deranged guy’s act.

Giffords has recently released a book and sadly chose to blame a proven innocent individual rather than supporting the truth. Her husband, whose doing the publicizing, spoke negatively of Palin during an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan despite the facts that the shooter’s motives were unrelated to politics and that the usage of targets on a map is an accepted act and had also been used by the Democrat Party.

The liberal tactic in blaming their opponents in the death of others despite their obvious innocence isn’t new. It has been played continuously throughout Bush’s presidency after the launch of the Iraqi war, with slogans like “Bush Lied, People Died” which blamed Bush in the deaths of civilians and soldiers instead of the terrorists who directed car bombs, roadside bombs, and other forms of violence.

Liberals have always been loyal to the ideology that “facts don’t matter especially if they contradict your message.” Thus, minor details such as that far more Iraqis have died during Clinton’s presidency due to Saddam’s systemic murders and gassing of entire neighborhoods than had been killed by terrorists during Bush’s presidency, simply had no significance upon the anti-war crowd. Heralding Bush as a hero who saved thousands of Kurds from unjust suffering simply contradicted their agenda and therefore remained unmentioned by the left. In contrast, Obama’s war in Libya was lauded by the left for its humanitarian and noble mission.

It is stunning to watch the leftists’ reactions once their political opponent can no longer be blamed, whether because of lack of evidence, evidence proving them wrong, or their nemesis no longer being in power. Instead of reversing the blame they’ve heaped upon their opponents and directing it towards the true guilty party, they either disappear without the slightest apology, or remain entrenched in their warped facts despite reality proving otherwise. 

This was seen after the details emerged as to who was responsible for the Tucson shooting. The left hadn’t redirected the hatred and anger they had expressed against Palin and the others towards Loughner, the guy truly guilty of the crime. Similarly, once Bush was no longer in office and their buddy Obama had taken over the reins, the death counts, protests, and chants have come to a mysterious end. These reversals indicate not only the falsehood of the original claims but tell us that these liberals have been knowledgeable of the true facts throughout their protests, yet nevertheless chose to proceed with the lies. How disgusting.

Additionally, the left personalize their hatred against political opponents and speak badly of the person/people instead of the ideology, and it often leads to improper behavior. It is therefore common amongst liberals to label their opponents as Hitler and Nazis, and joke of a longing to bring the life of a conservative to an end without receiving any criticism of the others. Since hating the person is deemed the norm in liberal circles, the media hasn’t found it necessary to protest the many death wishes made publicly against Palin and other conservatives since they too carry a personal hatred against conservatives and would have loved to see such threats followed through.

This is the polar opposite of the manner in which conservatives conduct themselves, and conservatives can be proud of their behavior. Conservatives strictly oppose the message and the ideology of the left without mocking or wishing physical ill for its messengers. The demands of fifty one conservative congress members, three presidential candidates, and many other influential conservative figures for Eric Holder to step down from his post as Attorney General is but one example of the exemplary behavior in which conservatives conduct themselves.

The American public in general and conservatives in particular were shocked to discover the details of Operation Fast & Furious, an operation led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms in which firearms were sold to suspected gun smugglers in the hope to eventually trace the arms all the way up to the higher echelons of Mexican drug cartels. Although it must have appeared novel to some in theory, reality proved the operation to be disastrous as they lost track of most of the weapons, only to have them repeatedly turn up at crime scenes and has been direct cause of the deaths of at least 200 innocent Mexicans and one U.S. Border Control Agent, Brian Terry. Since only 600 out of the 2,500 guns have been recovered and a majority of those were found only after having been used to commit violence, that death-toll is expected to at least double.

The conservative media deserves much respect and credit for their dedication to the truth, in only reporting information of which were absolutely accurate and of which evidence was available. Despite the information which traced the program directly to the Obama administration, there were no hasty assumptions and finger-pointing as liberals are want to do. Rather, they waited until they had absolute facts before placing any demands directly upon a single individual. What a contrast to Obama’s “I don’t know the details” but “the police acted stupidly” which then required a beer summit in order to undo the damage his hastiness has caused.

Those investigating the details demanded from the federal government two reasonable requests; transparency and responsibility. Transparency is necessary so that those who were responsible for this out-of-control program can be held responsible and removed from their post. 

The first individual of which responsibility has been demanded is Erick Holder, Attorney General, whose resignation has been requested by many conservatives in Congress since he was aware of this scandal yet did nothing to counteract it. For some unknown reason, the government has found both requests to be unreasonable. In the latest development, the grand jury indictment issued for Brian Terry’s murder was sealed last week by the Obama Administration, thus blocking the door for additional information to be released. As for responsibility, Obama has not yet demanded a resignation from Holder or anyone else.

The call for Holder to resign isn’t the result of randomly choosing one individual upon whom to pounce and throw some blame. Only after evidence surfaced which exposed Holder and the lies he’d said during the Congressional Hearings, did conservatives call for him to take responsibility for his irresponsible actions. Since the outcry was focused at the action and not the individual, it did not include any “jokes” which demanded violence against Holder. The only demand which has been placed upon Holder is resignation, something which should’ve been self-understood and self-enacted by Holder.

As an aside, it’s pretty ironic that the same administration who wishes to place additional restrictions upon the second amendment rights of ordinary Americans, and the president who has mocked the bitter folks who cling to their guns, hasn’t had any qualms in supplying guns to violent foreigners behind the backs of their government. 


  

What the Conservative Movement Can Learn from the Democrats after the Ohio Failure

After witnessing the defeat of conservative legislation in Ohio and Mississippi the past Tuesday, and the unacceptable behavior of many on the right in throwing their own under the bus during the last few years, I've penned an article which appears today on The American Thinker.

After facing defeat in Ohio, conservatives must not give up hope in implementing positive change. Conservatives should take a page out of the Democrats' handbook and learn to stick to one's candidates and ideology despite opposition and defeat.

Ohio is a swing state where both sides are in a constant battle for control, with the red in the purple bleeding away and the blue gaining a slight upper hand, and then back again. In 2010, Democrats were forced to swallow a bitter pill when Republican John Kasich won the heated campaign against the incumbent Democrat Governor Ted Strickland with a mere seventy seven thousand votes. The Republicans also overtook the control of the Assembly by a considerable margin and upped their previous majority in the Senate, thanks to the rising anti-Obama sentiments and the growth of the Tea Party.  

...Tuesday, November 8th, the Democrats emerged victorious and undid that which the conservatives have accomplished after taking control of all three branches in 2010.

Is this a signal for conservatives to raise their hands in defeat? Absolutely not! At the contrary, Conservatives must remain energized, focused at the goal, and begin the process of reigning in government spending once again without delay. Furthermore, it's time to take a page from the Democratic handbook, memorize it, and follow it to the tee.

Number One: the left are extremely loyal to one another and to their cause, and will refuse to throw any single individual or cause under the bus despite extremely negative public opinion.

Number Two: the left remains focused, energized, and set to promote their liberal agenda even during the periods when they are not in power, have public opinion turned against them, and have already met repeated failure in the past in regard to that particular issue.

Liberals never lose sight of their goals. They wished to enforce socialized national healthcare and kept their focus on the target for over eighty years until, at last, they reached success. Their victory came after numerous attempts which ended in failed bills and lost elections, yet they refused to give up.

Why are Republicans so quick to lift their hands up in resignation? Republicans haven't yet received the opportunity to repeal ObamaCare, yet many have dropped the call to repeal it and instead adapted a repeal and/or replace ObamaCare slogan. Why? What will they replace or amend it with? Why not remain true to the original cause and fight for a complete repeal? Have Democrats ever caved in on their ideology? The Democrats in Ohio haven't attempted to replace parts of Section 2; they went for an outright repeal. Republicans are experts in expressing half - hearted support for their cause; enough to tell the conservative voters we tried our best, yet not enough to see true success. At the first hint of public opinion shifting Republican leaders shift right along with it, throwing their ideology and colleagues under the bus in order curry favor in the eyes of the media.

Media: Handing Guns to Criminals isn't worthy enough of the Outcry over Ehanced Interrogations

Governor Palin has publicly joined, with a post on her Facebook page, the increasing numbers of Congress members who are demanding Eric Holder's resignation.

When one watches the media indifferently ignore Operation Fast and Furious which has put guns into the hands of criminals in an attempt to cover up for "The One," and one contrasts their behavior with their horror and hatred toward the Bush administration for allowing investigators to throw suspected/confirmed terrorists against a sophisticated wall designed to create a loud boomerang upon contact, their hypocrisy is simply mind-boggling.

It’s tempting to get distracted with the horse race aspect of electoral politics during a primary season. But as pundits talk about “who’s up and who’s down” in the 24 hour news cycle, we must keep our eye on the ball with the Obama administration. They rely on distraction to skirt responsibility, but we’re going to hold them accountable for their corruption and incompetence.

When the stories about Operation Fast and Furious first broke, it sounded too crazy even for this administration.

Why would any government official with an ounce of common sense think it’s a good idea to facilitate the smuggling of thousands of guns into the hands of violent Mexican drug cartels? That’s what Operation Fast and Furious did.

You might think Eric Holder’s Department of Justice was setting up a sting operation in which our federal agents would swoop down and arrest the bad guys the minute the guns traded hands. But that’s not what happened. Eric Holder’s DOJ had American gun dealers sell weapons to “straw purchasers” tied to drug cartels without actually following the movement of the guns as they were then sold to Mexican drug lords. They apparently thought this so-called “gun-walking” operation would help them chart the path of gun smuggling, but they didn’t have a plan to actually control the weapons’ movements as the guns were allowed to “walk” into Mexico. All Holder’s DOJ did was arm violent criminals. What manner of fools do we have working in this administration? What’s next? Supplying nuclear weapons components to the Iranians so we can track their activities?

Fast and Furious isn’t just your typical government incompetence. This is a deadly tragedy. U.S. border agent Brian Terry was gunned down with weapons connected to Holder’s debacle. At least 200 Mexican citizens were also killed by criminals using Fast and Furious weapons. We can only imagine how many more people will be murdered by criminals our government armed.

When an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives blew the whistle on this operation, the DOJ leaked sensitive information about him to the press. This week, the former U.S. Attorney for Arizona, who was ousted in the wake of the scandal, admitted to being the leaker.

And where is President Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder in all of this? When did he first know about the operation? In his testimony to the House Oversight Committee on May 3, 2011, Holder stated, “I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.” But the DOJ’s own documents prove that Holder had been receiving briefings on Fast and Furious for nearly a year before that date. In other words, our government’s top law enforcement official, Eric Holder, lied to the American public. He finally admitted this week to the Senate Judiciary Committee, “In my testimony before the House committee [on May 3], I did say a few weeks. I probably could have said a couple of months. What I said about a few weeks was inaccurate based on what happened.”

When the nation’s highest law enforcement official lies to the American people, he must go.

And if he claims that he didn’t lie, then how else do we explain this situation? He’s either lying or he’s so grossly incompetent and lazy that he didn’t read important life and death briefings from his deputy attorney general and didn’t know about this deadly operation run by people under him. So, which is it? Incompetent, lazy, or lying? No matter which explanation fits, he needs to go.

Holder conceded this week, “I have ultimate responsibility for what happens in the department.” He can prove it by resigning. And if he refuses to resign, then President Obama – with whom the bucks ultimately stop – can prove that he respects honesty, transparency, and accountability in his administration by firing Holder.

I stand with the members of Congress who are calling for Holder’s resignation. I stand with the family members of Brian Terry who are demanding transparency and accountability. Mr. President, where do you stand?

P.S. It can be argued that some elements of this scandal give the appearance of perhaps being intended to be used to infringe on our Second Amendment rights. I invite our President to correct concerned Americans if they’re wrong on this.

The pressing question now plaguing Obama of course, is how to end this controversy without hurting his upcoming reelection!

Governor Sarah Palin Ahead of the Game Once Again, Surprised?

The IAEA will be releasing their quarterly report later this week in which new evidence will be provided that Iran’s nuclear programs are geared towards building nuclear weapons despite Ahmadinejad’s peaceful claims. Their research in nuclear missile technology and the fact that they’ve been enriching uranium at a far quicker pace than necessary for peaceful means is a clear indication of the program’s true purpose.

The IAEA report is also expected to say that the activity is taking place at a facility in Qom, deep in a mountainside, that could within months be fortified against conventional weaponry. Some of it may already be out of the reach of missiles. This serious piece of information has led to increased discussions between the U.S. and Great Britain whether to use military force against Iran before it is too late, as reported by Canada and The Guardian, both non-USA media agencies.

Although The Guardian claims that Obama’s reelection won’t play a role in the decision, given that his reelection has been the key factor in all other major decisions he’s faced, it most definitely will. So the serious question Obama now faces is not whether Iran should be stopped before becoming a nuclear power, but whether it is worth it to upset his liberal base once again in exchange for receiving support of the average American.

Sounds familiar for some? Here’s why. In February of 2010, Governor Palin had said the following during an interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday.

WALLACE: I know that three years is an eternity in politics. But how hard do you think President Obama will be to defeat in 2012?

PALIN: It depends on a few things. Say he played, and I got this from Buchanan, reading one of his columns the other day. Say he played the war card. Say he decided to declare war on Iran, or decided to really come out and do whatever he could to support Israel, which I would like him to do. But that changes the dynamics in what we can assume is going to happen between now and three years. Because I think if the election were today, I do not think Obama would be re-elected.

Whether Obama will or won’t bomb Iran, the very idea that bombing Iran has become a topic of serious discussion across the globe and will continue to be so during the year of Obama’s reelection, sure proves to all once again Palin’s ability to pinpoint issues and their solutions way before anyone else. 


  

The Tucson Blood Libel Controversy and the Character Assassination of a Conservative

After Palin had been falsely accused in the Tucson shooting, she released a statement via a video in which she spoke about American values and liberties, and the forces of evil and good. A majority of Americans, however, were aware of only two words which she had used in describing the media and liberals immature and dangerous blame game; blood libel.

The fact that the liberal media pounced upon those words were of no surprise since they’ve done much worse; they blamed her in murder for no reason other than political hatred. The reactions of the establishment and a significant number of conservatives, though, were quite shocking; mainly that  many questioned and criticized her usage of those words. Whether one agreed or disagreed with the wording she used to defend herself (which I as a Jew understood) shouldn't have made the slightest difference. It wasn’t the time to analyze her response. It was a time to passionately defend her against the appalling lies and express wholehearted support despite one’s possibly differing opinion on how she should have responded.

It is already Wednesday, three days after the story broke, and the entire media is still focused on only one thing; Herman Cain and the possibility that he sexually harassed two women in the 90’s. Actually, although I wrote “the possibility,” the media is having a field day with the Politico piece, and is determined to portray and convince the public of Cain’s guilt despite the lack of any evidence.

In no way can one compare the Tucson story and the endless attacks Palin endured, to the Politico story regarding Cain’s possible sexual harassment. It is unclear whether Cain can or will survive this, or whether it will still develop into something more serious. I also want to make it clear that I’m not on the Cain train nor convinced he’s ready to be president. However, when a hit-piece loaded with anonymous sources is released against a conservative, with the sole and obvious intention to destroy the person, it is the duty of all conservatives to defend the accused who is most likely at least partly innocent of the claims thrown at him.

Cain was attacked solely because he’s the current conservative leading the polls. Politico, or any other member of the LSM, would have never a similar story such as this if the person in question would’ve been Obama’s green jobs czar or some other liberal. Therefore, now is not the time to criticize his campaign staff despite what many see as incompetence of their part, but to create an outcry against the injustice and double standard the media has employed in the name of journalism.

Governor Palin has taught us time and again the importance of defending others. She had written Facebook posts in three different instances in order defend Juan Williams, Dan Fagan, and Dr. Laura who had come under hateful fire from the left. She rose above and disregarded the fact that all three of them have often spoken disparagingly of her, since when someone is wrongly accused, one’s own interests should be of no significance.

Those three cases were extremely significant since it involved the limitation of individual’s freedom of speech which is a basic right granted to all Americans in the first amendment. Cain’s situation is somewhat different, yet equally outrageous. He has come under false anonymous character assassination, which has become the number one tool used to destroy true bona fide conservatives. They’ve done it to Clarence Thomas, have employed it against Sarah Palin, and are now in the midst of mudslinging Rubio and Cain. 

We conservatives cannot afford to remain silent in the face of these despicable actions. We must fight and protest all hateful attacks against conservatives without differentiating between those you personally support and those you personally oppose for any given campaign or job. Only if we set up a united front to counter the attacks aimed our way can we hope to cause enough uproar to put a hold to the double standard employed by the media at a regular basis. 


 

Mr. David Frum is All Mixed Up Over Who Left Whom

David Frum wrote two articles this week whose content were quite comical, so I decided to share the gist of it with you.

Ronald Reagan has often said in regard to his party change from Democrat to Republican that, “I didn’t leave the Democrat Party, it left me.” Ironically, David Frum who preaches to the Republicans that “The Era of Reagan is Over” and that it’s necessary to adapt to the times, has now turned to Reagan’s words and twisted them in order to defend…Romney.

Frum criticized those who blast Romney for his endless flip-flops with the excuse that “it’s not Romney who is the flip-flopper. It’s the conservative movement.” Frum continued his ridiculous defense of Romney, explaining that Romney’s positions had always been aligned with the Republican Party. However, since the party has undergone recent radical changes he had to do some shifting in order to keep up with the pace. The blame therefore lies with the party.

My immediate question upon reading Frum’s nonsense was why has Romney not done that which Reagan did? If the party has left Romney, why hasn’t he left the party and joined whichever Party is more in line with his original positions, be it the Green, Liberal, Democrat or other party? Mr. Frum, perhaps you can remind us when the Republican Party’s platform had been to run to the left of Ted Kennedy? And if Romney’s positions were so “mainstream” then why couldn’t he win a second term in David Frum’s mainstream Massachusetts?

In his other article, Frum officially discussed the various possible outcomes of the 2012 elections and their consequences. The underlying theme of course was to bash the Tea Party and Republican activists who he considers having lived the last three years “in a fantasy world in which fringe characters like Sarah Palin and Herman Cain somehow ’speak for the common sense of the common people.’“ Frum also threw in Perry, Bachmann and Trump in addition to Palin and Cain as having each served as the Tea Party’s messiah.

Rick Perry is the Governor of the largest conservative state for the last ten years. Does that make Texas, which boasts a considerable percent of America’s population and jobs, a fringe state?

Sarah Palin had been elected twice to the mayoral position in Wasilla and then as the Governor of the state of Alaska. Is 90% of Alaska, which approved of Palin and her successful policies, also fringe? That brands the two largest states of the country as loaded with fringe characters. Whoa! And what about John McCain who you so adore and chose Palin as his running mate, is he fringe too?

Herman Cain, in addition to having been honored with the fringe title, was predicted by Frum to run a train wreck of a presidency if he wins. Surprisingly, this disaster of a guy was credited with the positive financial turnaround of Burger King and Godfather’s Pizza, was the host of a popular talk-radio show, and served as the chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City. It sure causes one wonder what he would’ve been able to accomplish if he hadn’t been so fringe.

David Frum’s treatment of Obama differs vastly than that of his “fellow” conservatives. Obama and his policies aren’t referred to as socialist or communist, but that of a mainstream Democrat guy. What has Obama touched that met with success? He touched health care and it is on the path to destruction. He touched our economy, and it plummeted far lower than before. Sadly, one can simply say; Obama touched America and has wrought destruction upon it. His interference in the Middle East or other foreign countries has only increased the violence against innocent and the promotion of Islamic extremists. However, when Obama’s healthcare reform bill passed, Frum blamed … Republicans for having refused to create a bi-partisan bill.

Being that you, Mr. Frum, consider yourself as a conservative, it seems as though you are the fringe character. Demanding the party to have a pro-choice candidate at the top of the ticket, or taking measures to curb in global warming is in direct opposition to the Republican Party and the Conservative movement. If the Republican Party has abandoned anyone, it was the conservative principles upon which it was originally founded. It has as of late forgotten that “Government is Not the Solution to the Problem, Government is the Problem” and had picked John McCain to represent them in 2008. Since McCain was your favorite guy in the 2008 campaign take a look at the results of his campaign and the extreme policies of the current administration.

Mitt Romney has a significant chance in winning the primary, only to then yes or not win the general election. A repeat of McCain’s performance is quite likely. There is only one thing that is absolutely definite regarding Mitt Romney. He hasn’t stopped flipping and flopping on every topic and policy brought to the table, possibly because in his entire political career he hasn’t had any definite positions. He simply gave the answers that the people he was speaking to wished to hear, and acted in the manner which was most beneficial for him in getting reelected. He definitely wasn’t conservative in the past, and his many flips won’t make into a conservative. A wolf in sheep’s clothes is still a wolf.

The conservative movement’s platform is the same as it had always been. It hasn’t changed and won’t change its pro-life, pro-individual liberties, pro-small government, and constitution-adhering principles. Conservatism had always been the basis of the Republican Party, and a demand for it to return to its roots is only logical and understandable. Perhaps, Mr. David Frum, it is necessary for you to review the conservative ideology which has originally been represented by the Republican Party, and is still supposed to be one and the same. A demand from conservatives for the party to therefore return to its roots is only logical and understandable. A demand from a phony conservative like you to fundamentally transform the party is not.

The Remarkable Difference Every Individual Can Make

I’m a 23 year old concerned citizen who opened a blog several months ago. Although English isn’t my first language, I’ve decided to do plunge ahead since this is a country where opportunity and success isn’t limited to a specific group and we’re not ready to let this country be radically transformed. I sent in submissions regularly to C4P which somewhat increased traffic to my blog, and eventually became an official contributor to C4P.

Palin’s decision not to run last Wednesday hit me by surprise during what was a particularly hectic time in my personal life, leaving me with no time to jot down my thoughts. As a religious Jew, her announcement came two days before Yom Kippur and a week before Succos. Although it’s now almost a week later, I decided it isn’t too late to share some of my thoughts.

In the three years since Governor Palin has stepped onto the national scene after having been chosen McCain’s running mate, the country has undergone many changes, both for the worse and the better. Although the focus is largely at the damage and destruction the Obama administration has wrought, one mustn’t forget the millions of Americans of every stripe and color who have become involved in and passionate about the political situation in this country. Tea Party groups have sprung up in every corner across the country, with voters demanding of their representatives to truly represent them and not the special interests or their own interests. No longer are the people indifferent and apathetic to the actions of the politicians.

Until now, the bullies and hotshots from the left as well as those within the conservative movement media had dominated the scene with no one daring to stand up against them or in defense of their victims. That is no longer the case. Millions of individuals have challenged these egoists time and again, and defended those smeared with lies and nonsense. Individuals across the country have recognized the power each individual possesses and have singlehandedly undertaken to fight the left, the establishment, and the know-it-all Republican elitists who peer down in disdain at us pesky little people. Twitter users with only a handful of followers have effectively challenged some of the big boys who have tens of thousands of followers. Ordinary citizens concerned for the future of their country have managed to confront the hoity toity class holding them accountable for their actions. No longer could these elitists go on interviews and write articles loaded with lies and distortions without receiving heavy backlash from thousands of people.

I have personally experienced the power of each individual. Shortly after I’ve joined C4P, Erick Erickson upped his snarky attitude against Palin. Since many Palin supporters including called him out on his despicable behavior, he expanded his attacks to include the Palin supporters. After I wrote a lengthy and factual article he felt compelled to respond, so he nitpicked one out of hundreds of comments on the article and focused on that. Of course his actions weren’t a very effective method in increasing respect for him or his site. Labeling Palin supporters as idiots, cultists, and many additional flattering names likewise hasn’t done much except turn people away from his site. Erickson isn’t accustomed to being challenged when wrong, and the fact that regular Americans have dared do so has been a blow to his ego. We must continue to remember our powers and fight those who are ready to give up principles for personal or other gains.

Many are wary of challenging others or taking an active role in spreading conservatism due to feelings of inadequacy. One might think that it is necessary to have training in debating in order to effectively challenge and educate those ignorant of conservative ideology, a journalistic degree in order to write letters or articles, or a certain charisma in order to run for office. Although the qualities listed above are certainly helpful, one can do all the above and even more without any of it. All that is truly necessary is an honest desire to educate and reach out to others, lots of determination, and of course first educating yourself about the topic on hand. When Sarah said one doesn’t need a title to make a difference, she didn’t only speak of herself. She spoke directly to all of us, encouraging us to get as heavily involved as we can. Not always will our actions meet success, but we cannot afford to give up, and can also never know when we’ll strike gold.

This too, I’ve personally experienced. I am fully aware of my weaknesses which include a lack of eloquent expressions and grammatical flaws since, as mentioned earlier, English isn’t my first language. However, I believe that if one has worthy ideas then one should share them with others even though the final piece won’t be as polished or perfect as that of others. I’ve always appreciated those that have here and elsewhere brought my errors to my attention, thus giving me the opportunity to correct them. When faced with taunting and mockery, I just shake it off for it is proof that the mocker can’t argue with the stated ideas and facts, so he resorts to name-calling and spell-checking

Last week, the day before Palin’s announcement, another diarist chose to comb through one of my diaries at Red State and highlight all of its grammatical and careless errors, for which I thanked him. Erickson and his cronies pounced upon it and recommended it, in an obvious effort to spite me, surely slapping each other on the backs and exchanging high-fives in their victory against Abie Rubin. Little did they realize how belittling their action was, for it clearly illustrated how deeply they’ve been hurt and angered by the truth exposed by a single 23 year old individual, and that the only thing they could hold against him was his grammatical errors. If they thought it would cause me to become embarrassed by my mistakes and therefore shut up, boy were they wrong! Such an approach would be antithetical to what my parents and elders have taught me, and also contrary to the lessons I’ve learned from Governor Palin’s actions. One doesn’t have to be perfect and flawless in order to undertake a task. One simply needs the will and the perseverance to stick to one’s task despite distractions and stumbling blocks. If getting the message across requires one to be mocked by some because of some misspells and errors, then so be it.

Governor Palin has repeatedly stressed that you don’t need a title or a prestigious position to make a difference. Her concern for her children’s education led her to join the PTA group in her local school. From becoming a PTA mom she then went a step further and ran for the city council before eventually becoming the mayor of her town, the oil and gas commissioner, the governor of her state, and then the vice presidential candidate of a national ticket. She didn’t enter the political scene with the intentions to run for the presidency or even the governor in ten or so years down the line, as others have. She entered with the intention to clean up the place, influence positive change, and lead with the people’s needs in mind.

Alaska is pretty much disconnected from the lower 48 states, and their previous Governors were unknown individuals. The only Alaska figure to make some news was Ted Stevens because of his insatiable lust for earmarks, the corruption charges against him which were mostly proven as untrue after his death, and the bridge to nowhere. Palin ran for the governorship in order to serve the people of Alaska, and her focus as Governor was clearly on the state of Alaska. Her respect for he constituents was evidenced in many manners including her attendance at the funerals of fallen soldiers. Only after the 2008 campaign when she could no longer govern effectively did she resign. Aware of her ability to be effective on the national scene, she involved herself and influenced the direction of many primaries in congressional districts in 2010. Throughout her public career she has proven that with enough grit and true determination one can effectively influence change even in the face of entrenched habits.

Immediately after Palin has declared she won’t be seeking the presidential nomination in 2012 many Palin supporters, although respectful of her decision, have felt shellacked by her announcement due to the effort they’d invested in advance of what was thought to be a presidential run. Whether having spent time debating with family and friends, spreading information, hosting “Undefeated parties,” educating others online or otherwise, they were stunned and disappointed while being forced to respond to the scorn and mockery without being privy to all the details. I know just how many have felt immediately after the announcement since I too had constantly stood up for her and had actually written an article titled “There are Times for Words and Times for Silence” discussing various reasons which indicated that she’s running –the very morning before she announced she isn’t. The only thing missing was claiming to know her thoughts.

I’ve already mentioned Red State several times and will do it once more. First let me inform you that I’ve originally had only respect for Erickson. However, after he has donned his kingmaker attitude and treated Palin in an inappropriate manner, I felt it necessary to point out their hypocrisy and double standard and have done so in several articles. After his hourly posts in which he repeated that Palin hadn’t announced her decision despite it being the end of September, ignoring the fact that she said no decision would be forthcoming in the next twenty four hours, I decided to retaliate. I began to post one Pro Palin diary after the other, which irked them to no end. Last Wednesday, I cross-posted at Red State the above mentioned article “A Time for Silence, and a Time for Words” and renamed it “Palin’s Running… Here’s Why.” I did this in order for it to be noticed amongst the many other diaries, for which it surely served its purpose. At the end of the day and many comments later, after Palin announced her intentions not to run, Erickson and his cronies ran to recommend, tweet, and mock the article as though his own predictions have never been proven wrong.

Erickson’s childish behavior isn’t the purpose or motive for this article. It is simply the easiest example I could think of to illustrate that all of us end up dealing with others and their nasty behavior throughout life. Some, though, are treated to considerably larger amounts of vitriol than most others. Sarah Palin as a wife, mother, daughter, and sibling has had to deal with an abnormal quantity of utterly false allegations. Multiplying by a million all barbs Palin supporters have received because of their support for a Palin presidency wouldn’t come close to what she and her family have undergone during the last three years.

The attacks weren’t limited to her record or at least to her own person. The hate-filled lies were hurled against her parents, siblings, husband, and children. No one and nothing was off limits. Without the slightest shred of evidence, those who’ve undertaken the task to destroy her have spread false rumors about her marriage and more. To top it off, although Joe McGinniss released a book chock full of lies which were proven to be lies and quietly admitted as such by the very author via an email Breitbart had gotten hold of and released, very few in the Conservative media felt it necessary to come to the truth’s aide. Some, such as Red State remained silent despite the outrageous lies which were being written about an innocent family. Worse still, The Daily Caller amongst others found it necessary in the name of journalism to repeat the lies, while disregarding their duty as journalists to inform their readers that the lies they’d just repeated are part of a great hoax and that the author is a despicable untrustworthy individual. Several days later, the Daily Caller once again in the name of journalism, found it necessary to repeat vile language said against Palin by a known rapist, without any added context or explanation nearby. After Greta called out Tucker Carlson for his downright disturbing behavior, Erickson defended and congratulated him on twitter. The behavior of these two “conservatives” although awful, is barely a drop in the bucket compared to what the left has thrown at her. Just think of Tucson.

Although she isn’t running for the presidency in 2012 she has made it clear that she will not remain silent nor disappear from the political scene. The haters haven’t stopped her in the past, and it doesn’t seem as though they will stop her in the future. During the last several months, many in the media including Republicans and Conservatives have hammered and demanded from Palin to reach a decision. Now that the reply was a no, many have questioned why she waited so long with her decision. Deciding not to run is an equally weighty decision and Palin has clearly regarded it as such. It was something she heavily weighed and debated, and ultimately she chose not to run.

So to those who’ve been busy whining the last several months, I ask you this. Which states have already held their primaries thus making her response come too late? What was so late about her announcement in terms of its effect on the other candidates? Do they not have plenty of time to continue campaigning? Do the voters not have several months to continue to vet the candidates, question them on their conservatism, and then make a decision? This holds true even if her decision would’ve been positive.

Rasmussen released a poll yesterday saying that 72% of the voters feel that the presidential campaign starts way too early and is far too drawn out. Yes, enough time to properly vet the candidates is a must, but several months before the primary is plenty of time. Although things aren’t likely to change in that regard since the media has to ensure they’ve got what to talk and write about, the nonsense that an October announcement is too late was and still is pure nonsense. It’s not too late in regard to states’ deadlines, not too late in regard to when majority of the voters begin to tune into the election process, not too late to be vetted, and not that late so as to guarantee failure.

I’ll end with this conspiracy although it may appear wild, dangerous, and improbable. The latest GOP debate proved to be a disaster as Romney clearly sailed and starred through it. Since it sorely lacked a single other candidate who was capable of challenging him or promoting conservative values with a record to prove their words, perhaps Palin might, might, might reconsider. Romney’s momentum has been growing considerably lately, and he was on the receiving end of Christie’s endorsement today. Cain, who is the only non-crony capitalist not because he proved to withstand the temptation but because he’s never been a part of politics before, has failed to deliver on his promise to take on Romney head-first. Although the establishment has labeled a Palin campaign as the guarantee for a Romney nominee, it now seems as though she’s the only one who can prevent Romney from being the nominee.

Additionally, now that she has declared that she isn’t running those who have feared a Palin campaign and thus focused on the petty triviality and ignored her content have made an about-face and began to sing her praises. No longer worried she’d take the candidate of their dreams and flush him/her down the toilet, they suddenly remembered their closeness and fondness of Governor Palin. More positive coverage was given to Palin in one week via the LSM and others, than those very same places have given her in the last year.

Conspiracy aside, according to her words at face value she isn’t running in 2012 and isn’t changing her mind on it. Earthquakes measuring 10.3 don’t happen too often, nor are they caused by humans. It is impossible to foretell the 2012 elections so it’s doubly impossible to foretell 2016 or 2020, but perhaps she will choose to run at a later date. Of course it will depend on many unknown variables such as who will be in the oval office, how the individual has governed, who else is running, what has Palin done in the four years, and so on and so forth.

If we want it to be a possibility, it is important to continue to educate others and spread the truth about her and her record. Now that she isn’t running, supporters of other candidates may feel less threatened and more agreeable to watch The Undefeated or hear about a former Governor in Alaska. Favorable impression need to be implanted in the hearts of millions so that when people will hear “Sarah Palin” they will think not of “I can see Russia from my house” but “that’s the governor who stood up against corruption in both parties and wasn’t scared to do what’s best for the people.” We must remember the power of every single individual and continue to promote constitution-loving candidates in every level of politics. We must remember that the future of this country may depend on the upcoming congress, so personal considerations should be set aside for the greater cause.

We can and must all continue to make differences via twitter, internet, local meetings, here at C4P and millions of other ways. It is impossible to know what the future holds, but that doesn’t mean one shouldn’t do their utmost to influence the future. In the months after the 2008 election, when the McCain team unjustly blamed her for their loss and later when she was forced to resign from her governorship, the future seemed bleak. It was difficult to envision that she would open a new twitter account which currently has over half a million followers, a Facebook page with over 3.2 million friends, and millions more ready to volunteer. The base has grown considerably with the passage of time and can continue to dramatically increase its growth if we help facilitate it.

A Variety of Thoughts to Ponder regarding Palin's Decision

In the wake of Governor Palin's decision some of her supporters have lifted their hands in despair and given up hope for any effective change to take place.
 
To these individuals here's a great piece from Palin4America which reminds us all who Governor Palin is and what she stands for, and that it isn't about one person but about the ideas she put forth.

I know many people are disappointed with Governor Palin’s decision, people are in disbelief, in shock and some even feel betrayed after all the work they have put in for Governor Palin.

For me it wasn’t just about supporting a potential candidate, it was also about supporting a mother, wife, grandmother who was trashed and taken to the woodsheds for no other reason than existing. No one deserves that and no one should have to go through that. EVER!

As for her decision, while I am disappointed, I am not shocked. In a way I saw it coming and I had prepared myself for the possibility. Her signals were becoming increasingly obvious.

I think it came down to Palin wanting her life back. She had enough of the crap and she simply didn’t want to put her family through the whole process again. It wouldn’t be fair to them and frankly it wouldn’t be fair to her supporters. Even thick skin if you hammer it long enough cracks and I don’t think she wanted her or her families skin shattered .

It’s going to take some time for the dust to settle. But we’ll get through it and we’ll all be OK. Governor Palin would have made a great president, but you know, there have been many great people who have moved on and the world survived. The Graveyard is full of indispensable people. I don’t mean that in a negative way, my point is, that the world will continue and we’ll be just fine.

I’ve been hearing from people who are saying that by making this decision the left and the media have won. I beg to differ.

No, they haven’t won and we will continue to stand strong and prove it. They will only win if we lose, does anyone here plan on losing? I didn’t think so.

It’s all about how you look at things. If you want to convince yourself that they won and you lost you’ll only be miserable and it wont get you anywhere.

Think positively: think about how the Palin’s won’t have to deal with the crap anymore, think about how Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper and Trig will now have their mother around without the fear of them being trashed everyday, think of the things the family can now do without worrying that a camera lens is pointing in their direction.

The world doesn’t stop when a great solider dies, while it’s sad, we move on. Battle’s are not planned and won with just one general, battle’s are won with an entire army of dedicated troops. The general of our choice may have stepped aside, but the war continues and the army is still standing strong. We will continue to fight, we will not surrender and if we pull ourselves together we will win.

Although there are probably many great pieces out there, I'll end with the words of Professor Jacobson of Legal Insurrection.

It disgusts me that a candidate of such quality cannot run as a practical matter, and that we are left with second and third choices. But reality is reality, and it would have been a tough road to overcome the past three years.

Palin had the opportunity to be a game-changer in the direction of this country; someone who really understood at a gut level how far down the road we are on the path to a country we will not recognize; someone who understands that the political class holds the country by the throat, and that removing the grip is necessary not just changing who holds the grip.

I do not begrudge her the time she took at all. I respect that she took the time, and in the end made a sound decision, even if it is a decision which leaves me profoundly disappointed in the coming year.

After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.

My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.

From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back – and as I’ve always said, one doesn’t need a title to help do it.

I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs.

Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people can better serve this most exceptional nation.

In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House.

Sarah Palin has fought for conservatism long before anyone ever imagined that she will be thrust upon the national stage.

First as a city council member, then as Mayor, Chairwoman of Alaskan Gas and Oil Commission, and Governor of Alaska, she always remained faithful to the people who have elected her. 

She has now promised to continue to  fight for other conservative and constitution-loving candidates across the country.
